Isoparaffin - a better aerosol propellant

2024-01-05

Latest company news about Isoparaffin - a better aerosol propellant

Isoparaffins are considered to be better aerosol propellants in some cases.

The specific hydrocarbon propellants that affect aerosol spray characteristics vary depending on a variety of factors. Here are some common hydrocarbon propellants and their possible effects:

Propane: Propane is a commonly used hydrocarbon propellant with a high evaporation rate and pressure. It can provide a higher exit velocity and a larger spray angle, prompting the aerosol to be sprayed over a larger range.

n-Butane: n-Butane is another common hydrocarbon propellant. Compared to propane, n-butane has a lower evaporation rate and pressure. Using n-butane as propellant may result in lower exit velocities and smaller spray angles. n-Butane is with lower performance than Isoparaffin.

Isobutane: Isobutane is a hydrocarbon propellant with high volatility and pressure. Its use may result in higher exit velocities and larger spray angles.

Butane/Isobutane blend: Mixing butane and isobutane can adjust propellant characteristics. Different proportions of the mixture produce different evaporation rates, pressures and spray characteristics.

Some cases of Isoparaffin's application as aerosol propellants:

Volatility and Pressure Control: Isoparaffins are highly volatile, which means they are able to evaporate quickly and develop the required propulsion. In addition, isoparaffins have a controllable evaporation rate at a certain temperature and pressure, which helps control the spray performance of aerosols.

Temperature stability: The performance of isoparaffins at different temperatures is relatively stable. This allows isoparaffin propellants to maintain consistent spray characteristics under a variety of environmental conditions, whether used in high or low temperature environments.

Environmental friendliness: Compared with some traditional aerosol propellants, such as Freon and other chemicals, isoparaffins are considered to be a more environmentally friendly choice. They have less potential to damage the ozone layer of the atmosphere and contribute less to greenhouse gases
